Knights Discussion / Re: [Mod] Skeleton

Just checked it out
Thanks for a nice work, especially with sprites and sound.

Do you have any further plans about this mod?
Since (in my humble opinion) now they looks more like walking potion bottles, rather than monsters due to their fragility
Not to say that's bad, since additional sources of stuff are always fine

Skeleton v3
This mod adds a new monster called the Skeleton.
Uses a Predator-style invisibility cloak.
Dies and regenerates within 1-10 seconds 50% of the time he's hit.
Drops a potion sometimes when killed.
Runs away from players with the Destruction or Undeath wands.

Installation
1) Download "skeleton_v3.zip" attached to this post.
2) Unzip the "skeleton" folder into "/knights_data/server/".
3) Add the following line to the "knights_data/server/main.lua" file:
        require ("skeleton")

Thank you to ImpassIve_rus for feedback on Version 1!

David, the download and instruction links are on the Archive page http://www.knightsgame.org.uk/archives.html

The beta Map Editor only works with version 19 of Knights. Even then, it requires some fiddling with to make it work. I've come up with some workarounds to use it with the current version of Knights. I'm working on a step-by-step guide.

I don't run knights via a console. I installed it and used on linux the first time I got it but, after that I always ran a file called Knights. It appeared to be executable. I'll try running it with a console when  I get the chance. Oh and by the way this might help, heroes worked at first but, soon it made the game crash like toolbox.

Everything seems to be OK in Ubuntu (at least for me).
Could you provide more information about the problem?
For example, which version of Linux are you using, is there any error messages in the terminal and something like that?

Maybe Impassive can help us? (since he wrote those mods)

Well, I haven't tried to run them on Linux before, but I can try to (in a few days when I will have more time, I suppose)

I don't know, I never heard of this problem before.

Is there any particular error message? Check the console window where Knights is running.

Maybe Impassive can help us? (since he wrote those mods)

Good work :)

At some point I would like to make an improved map editor, unfortunately it's a low priority for me right now, but maybe sometime in the future.

In the meantime your fix should work nicely :)
