Hi there dear Knights players and developers!

I played this game a lot with a few mates back in the day on our Amiga computers.
Great that a remake exists and is still being developed!!  8)

Now i'm very eager to play it and i think i can talk some friends into it as well
but i ran into an error compiling it on Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid):

(i'm defenitly not a skilled linux user so please bear with me)

I read the instructions on the site how to compile for linux.
Then after i unpacked the .tar.gz and then moved to that current dir from terminal,
i typed "make", it gives this error:

make: *** No rule to make target `src/coercri/gfx/bitmap_font.cpp', needed by `src/coercri/gfx/bitmap_font.o'.  Stop.

I installed the packages needed like instructed, though some packages are called a little bit diffrent:
libsdl-dev is called libsdl1.2-dev

is that causing the error?

Really hope i can get it running on my linux desktop since i rather not use my
music-making-windows-laptop online.

big cheers,
Newk

Stephen

Welcome to Knights!

I'm sorry about your compilation error.

This is not an issue with installed packages. It looks like one of the Knights source code files is missing or corrupted. Perhaps you could try re-downloading the knights tar.gz file and starting again from the beginning?

Are you definitely using the latest version: knights_015_src.tar.gz?

If it still fails can you post the complete output from make? Can you also do "ls -l src/coercri/gfx" (from within the knights_015_src directory) and post the output?

Thanks.

i somehow overlooked that the box for "recreate folders" was unchecked when unpacking the .tar.gz  ::)

so now everything compiled just fine and i can walk the dungeons  8)

thanx!

Stephen

I'm glad you got it fixed. Enjoy the game :)
