Anti Spam measures installed

Hi everyone,

No doubt some of you will have noticed the occasional spam we have been getting on the General Discussion forum. Also a large number of spam accounts have been created (presumably by bots), most of them having some sort of spam links in their profiles.

Apparently bots are able to bypass the standard image verification used by SMF. Therefore I have installed the "reCAPTCHA" forum mod, this replaces the standard image verification with the one provided by http://recaptcha.net/. So far this seems to have worked very well with not a single spambot account having been created since installation!

I still have to go and apply the "wand of destruction" to the existing spambot accounts, but I will do that sometime within the next few days.
